Production Reflection
Successes
-
This was my first major game development; and I am proud that completed an entire board game by myself, from start to finish
-
Created a game, whose topic and gameplay can easily appeal to anyone from gamers to non- gamers
-
My mechanics promoted self reflection and recognition among the players, that emotional and mental health is important to look after
Setbacks
-
Had to go though a couple iterations of changing my game's font on the cards and documents to ensure legibility
-
I didn't have enough cards for a full 6 person group to cycle through the game, without reusing previous cards
-
Wasn't able to host as many playtest session as I wanted during production
Personal Takeaways
-
Time management is extremely important, even in a single person production
-
It’s perfectly fine (and important) to reach outside of the normal themes, topics, stories, and gameplays that other established games have, in order to offer a new perspective in the gaming community
-
It's important to really believe in the product you are creating. It will help when marketing and pitching your product; and help motivate you while working on the project
