My Roles 

Storyboard and Concept Artist, UI Artist, Sound Designer

My responsibilities included:

  • Creating storyboard concepts and the final animated opening cutscene

  • Designing character concept art for the main character and NPCs to establish the stylistic direction for the 2D artist

  • Producing sound effects and ambiance music to assist with player immersion 

  • Assisting in the developing of a task management system

  • Developing in-game UI elements that complimented the art style and narrative

  • Collaborating with the entire team to develop the narrative and intended gameplay

Production Reflection

 What was Successful 

  • We accomplished our goal of creating an endless runner, within a short period of time and fully remote

  • We had great communication and constantly met up to give updates on our contributions for the game

  • We easily divided and tackled tasks, while also offering support for every aspect of the game's development

 What were our Setbacks 

  • This was the entire team's first time making a game remotely, so we went through an overall adjustment finding the best forms of communication and tracking methods at first

  • Developing a meeting schedule where everyone was available took us some time to solidify

 Personal Takeaways 

  • Great communication across different departments increases ease during the development process

  • Having a reliable tracking system for a team is extremely important and useful

  • I enjoyed the organization and pre-production aspects that go into game design
